The company said it plans to launch a dedicated dollar stablecoin for the U.S. market called USAT. The core idea is separation: a global product on one side and a U.S.-oriented version on the other, designed to operate under clearer supervisory expectations around reserves, compliance, and operational transparency. The initiative highlights a more institutional direction — stablecoins as payment and settlement rails for businesses and fintech integrations, rather than a vehicle built around yield narratives. The “no-yield” framing is also meaningful: it signals an attempt to avoid the risk profile that regulators and market participants often associate with stablecoin products that promise returns. If executed as described, USAT would reflect a broader trend toward stablecoins becoming regulated financial infrastructure rather than purely crypto-native instruments.
